I have been an appellate specialist since 1995. I enjoy appellate work and consulting and strategizing with attorneys in the trial court to preserve and set up issues for appeal. I have prepared more than 250 appellate briefs and petitions and have argued more than 70 civil and criminal appeals. I have written articles and given presentations on a range of topics involving appellate practice, procedure, the rules of evidence, issues in jury selection, constitutional analysis, criminal law, and case law updates. I have also served on several Utah Supreme Court committees and task forces, and as an adjunct professor at the SJ Quinney College of Law teaching appellate advocacy. I approach each case with dedication, thoughtful analysis, and a deep knowledge of the appellate process. I am committed to excellence, and am one of two attorneys in Utah to be a Fellow in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
